Thank you for pledging your time to Walk and Talk for the Good Morning Britain 1 Million Minutes campaign.
If you know someone whose life has been touched by baby loss you can help by offering to meet up and get out for a walk together.
Here at Sands, we want to ensure that everyone affected by pregnancy loss or the death of a baby gets the support they need and deserve.
Simply knowing that someone is there to listen can really help bereaved parents know they are not alone in their grief.
Regular exercise like walking can have a positive impact on someone's well-being and many bereaved parents have shared with us the difference it has made to coping after the loss of their baby.
It can provide an opportunity for someone to reflect on their feelings, help to lift their mood, and be good for your own mental health and wellbeing too.
We will give you guidance and resources to help you take your first steps together.
What this role could involve:
- Contacting someone you know who has been affected by pregnancy or baby loss and offering to go for a walk to support them.
- Agreeing a regular time when you will meet for a walk together.
- Signposting them to Sands' bereavement support services.
- Checking in with Sands' bereavement support services team if you need some advice or have any concerns you want to discuss.
If you are ready to sign up to Walk and Talk that's great - we just need to ask for a few details. Simply fill in the form below and we'll be in touch to guide you through the next steps.
