The difference you can make

Sands want to ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. We want to campaign for change and support research so that fewer babies die and that fewer families experience the pain of losing a baby.

Can I send my knitting to Sands?

Sadly we aren't able to accept your knitted items.

Consider knitting something for yourself, a friend or family member. Or why not auction your items off to friends and family for extra donations?

Do you have any knitting patterns to use for inspiration?

We do have a ribbon pattern used for Baby Loss Awareness Week which you are welcome to use in any of your creations:

We also have a facebook group full of knitters that you can join, here you may find other like minded people with patterns, tips and advice to share.

How much do I need to raise?

There isn't a minimum amount, we are grateful for all you are able to raise for Sands.

To show the impact your fundraising can make:

£25 - could provide a bereaved family with a memory box to help create and keep safe precious and lasting memories of their baby

£36.02 - could answer a call from someone reaching out for support who has been through pregnancy loss or the death of a baby.

£98.37 - could help ensure every hospital in the UK has a dedicated Sands volunteer to help healthcare professionals access our training, guidance and support.

What can I knit?

Whatever you like? You may choose to knit and sell your items to friends and family, maybe you want to knit an item for Baby Loss Awareness Week or maybe you just want to prove that you are a star knitter and have an item in mind. It is your challenge and you can choose what you want to make.

How long will it take for my pack to arrive?

Please allow 2 weeks for pack delivery. You do not need this to start your challenge.
