Run the Cardiff Half Marathon for Sands!

Join Wales' largest road race and the second largest half marathon in the UK! The route will take you past some of Cardiff's most iconic landmarks, beautiful scenery and historic buildings. You can sign up in one of two ways. Either through a Sands charity place and commit to raise a minimum amount for Sands. Or you can use your own place from the ballot/UK Athletics and fundraise what you can for Sands. 

Reg fee: £20

Minimum sponsorship: £300

We ask charity place runners to aim to have raised at least 50% of the £300 sponsorship target 6 - weeks before race day.

Don't worry if you missed out on the ballot, you can still secure a charity place with Sands!

• Once-in-a-lifetime experience which will help save babies’ lives and support anyone affected by the death of a baby

The difference you will make

Sands want to ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of time.  We want to campaign for change and support research so that fewer babies die and so that fewer families experience the pain of losing a baby.

We all know someone who has lost a baby. So join Team Sands and help us continue to be there for them. 

It was a lovely sunny day and I met several other runners raising money for Sands. I saw Team Sands in the crowds at mile 7 (ish) and suddenly got a bit emotional! A great and enjoyable day. Here’s to Ben, my boy, Magnus, who the others were running for, and all the other babies who didn’t get a chance.

Volunteer and join our Sands Cheer Squad

Join the official Team Sands Cheer Squad in Cardiff City Centre to cheer on our incredible Cardiff Half runners.

Can you offer your time to come along and cheer from 09:30 am until 1:00 pm on race day? Sands will be located by Mile 8, easyHotel, Fitzalan Place, Cardiff, CF240ED.

You will be supported by receiving:

• Free Sands t-shirt
• Pompoms and clappers to make some noise on the cheer point.
• Dedicated contact in our Volunteering Team and Events Team
