"I found myself on the phone to a woman whose baby, like mine, had died. 'Tell me about your baby,’ she said and I poured my heart out to a perfect stranger with whom I felt an instant connection." Mum

Many parents feel that only others who have experienced the death of a baby can offer real understanding. Our countrywide network of over 104 local support Groups, usually run by bereaved parents and family members, offer you the chance to meet others, gain support and share your experience.

In response to government guidance around group gatherings, we would like to update on the availability of Sands support. Volunteer Groups are not hosting meetings at present to avoid the risk of COVID-19 transmission, but many are hosting online support meetings via video call platforms. Please check with your local Sands Group to find out if this is available or check their web pages for information. Our Helpline continues to support bereaved families through email and telephone and you can join our online community as well as our new Facebook Support Group. You will need to register for the online community and Facebook group. The Sands app and online literature remain available for anyone seeking information and support.
