I don't think I am good enough to join a Sands United team. Can I still join?

Don’t be worried if you don’t think you are good enough to join a team, all abilities are welcome and Sands United is there for anyone affected by the death of a baby.

I don't want to play, but still want to be part of the team. Is that okay?

If you don’t want to play, that's fine, you are still welcome. You could maybe run the teams social media instead.

Is it okay if I can't make every game or session?

It doesn't matter if you can't make it all the time. Sands United is there for you, whenever you are ready. You could always support your team on socials if you can make it.

I am not a bereaved dad. Can I still join my local team?

Sands United is not exclusive to bereaved dads. A lot of Sands United team members are brothers, uncles, nephews or healthcare professionals.

Sands United is there for anyone affected by the death of a baby.

Can I form my own Sands United team?

Yes! We are very keen to encourage more people to set up teams around the UK. If you're interested in setting up and managing a new Sands United team, visit our Set up a team page.

How do I join an existing team in my area?

Visit our Join a team page to find your local team and apply to join them. You can also contact most teams on social media and there are links in our Sands United map. You can also email sands.united@sands.org.uk and we will put you in touch with your nearest team. 

How do I form a women's Sands United?

It would be brilliant for bereaved mums and other female family members to set up teams, so do get in touch to discuss your idea. 

Can I only set up a football team?

You can set up any kind of Sands United team you like. We started with football because that was the chosen sport of the original Sands United FC. Do get in touch so we can talk about your ideas and help you make them a reality.
