Walk and talk with Sands
As the pandemic continues, many of us are dealing with increased levels of anxiety and isolation because of localised restrictions and lockdowns imposed to keep everyone safe.
It is an incredibly difficult period, and we want you take simple steps to help take care of yourself during these challenging times.
One of the ways you to do this is by walking and talking.
We know that daily exercise can have a positive impact to your well-being and many bereaved parents have shared with us the difference it has made with regards to coping after the loss of their baby.
Walking is something that for many is can help manage the waves of grief as well the stresses of everyday life. It can provide an opportunity to reflect on your feelings, can help to lift your mood, and have a positive effect on your overall well being. Getting out into the fresh air, even in the wind and the rain, is so good for all of our mental health and wellbeing.
Take part in a Walk and Talk and use the opportunity to have those honest conversation with yourself and others.
Go for a walk around your village or town, or venture into the countryside where you live. Talk to a friend or loved one in person, on the phone or to a loved one held in your heart.
If you are looking to take your walk a little further and would like to raise funds for Sands, you can do so by taking part in My Marathon, My Way. Set yourself a goal of 26.2 miles over the coming weeks and walk it any way you wish whether it is through your daily walks or several longer walks. Whatever you decide to do over the next few weeks and months, please know that you are not alone. Sands is here for you when you need us for as long as you need. For further details of our support services please click here.
