David Price

Trustee

David's son Finn was born sleeping on Friday 13th April 2012 and Sands' support made a huge difference to David and his wife. Since then they have raised money for Sands, and his wife has blogged about her experiences. David has held several senior commercial roles within Barclays and is particularly interested in using his marketing and strategy background to support fundraising, and help build new corporate relationships and professional support for the charity.

David Hall

Vice-Chair

David's son Ruaridh died shortly after he was born in April 1996, and his role as a Trustee is driven by the wish to ensure that bereaved parents receive the best possible care, and to reduce the loss of babies’ lives. He is Chair of the Scottish Steering Group, guiding the work of Sands volunteers in Scotland, and has worked as a psychiatrist for over 30 years and more recently in healthcare improvement.

Emma Parry

Trustee

Emma is a mum of three, originally from Scotland and now lives in Hampshire. When her son died, Sands (and particularly the local Southampton group) became one of her family’s lifelines. Professionally, she is a Partner of McKinsey & Company, an international management consultancy. At McKinsey, she helps a variety of organisations set and deliver ambitious strategies. In the past, she has managed international charity campaigns for Comic Relief, Kofi Annan’s Africa Progress Panel and the White Ribbon Alliance for Safe Motherhood.

Tom Burdett

Treasurer

Tom and his family found tremendous comfort in the support they received from Sands after the death of their son Findlay in 2015. After organising a fundraising event in memory of Findlay, Tom joined the Committee of Norfolk Sands.

Having built a career firstly as an Auditor and now as a Finance Director, Tom has extensive knowledge of the often complex areas of charity finance and governance, as well as the varied experience which comes with being in senior leadership positions for a number of years.
