The Fundraising Team, Sands | 5 September 2018

Heidi, from Leicestershire, is running the Great North Run this Sunday. Here is her story and why she is running for Sands.

I am running for SANDS as they supported us through the loss of our daughter Anna who was born in the 9th September 2007. So the GNR falls on her birthday. They showed me hope when I didn't think there was any.

What has been your biggest challenge while training?

Running with our new border collie pup who likes to emergency stop in front of you! I run with our local club who are super supportive especially my running buddy Charlene Roberts, she has promised to be on face time if I need it!!

What are you most looking forward to about being part of the Great North Run?

Running my third half marathon before I am 40 in a month and finishing!!!

What is your expected fundraising target?

£1600 to date including some from a previous event.

What is your expected finishing time?

2hrs 40 ..... or before its dark....
