Becky from Dundee, Scotland, is set to run the Great North Run on Sunday. Here is her story and why she is running for Sands.

I work as a midwife for the NHS and unfortunately caring for women and families who have lost their babies throughout pregnancy is not a never event. Seeing the devastating impact it has for all the family circle is always heartbreaking. I was fortunate enough to recieve ‘free’ study days funded by people’s donations at the beginning of my midwifery training which I think have been invaluable to my practice as a midwife and the care that I deliver to these woman and families

What has been your biggest challenge while training?

My biggest challenge has been training for the half marathon whilst planning my wedding and getting back into my running again after a month off for my honeymoon

What are you most looking forward to about being part of the Great North Run?

Definitely the crowds .. what a buzz and a cheer

What is your expected fundraising target?

£350 but I have already raised £580

What is your expected finishing time?

I would like to try do it 2hrs 15 minutes
