A bereaved mother of mixed Black and white British ethnicity told us how she had struggled to get information about what was happening in her own pregnancy. After her daughter, Genesys, was stillborn at 24 weeks, the mother was left feeling that saving her child had not been a priority for those involved in her care.

A bereaved mother of Asian/Indian ethnicity felt she was not listened to by healthcare staff and so did not get the care she needed to feel safe when giving birth to her baby at home at 16 weeks.

Vaishali is a bereaved mother of Asian/Indian ethnicity, who lost her baby Jaya at 22 weeks and one day. With the right care and information, she believes that Jaya's death could have been prevented.

Amber is a mother of mixed white and Black Caribbean ethnicity. Her story shows how a series of errors from early pregnancy contributed to the death of her twins, despite her working hard to access the care she knew she needed. 

Daniel is a father of Black Caribbean ethnicity, whose first baby was stillborn at 41 weeks and 4 days. His story shows the importance of healthcare staff providing clear and personalised information when supporting Black and Asian parents to make decisions about their care.
