I suffered an ectopic pregnancy very recently, an experience that almost cost me my life. It was one of the most isolating and painful times I've ever been through. I felt completely alone in the process, unsure of where to turn or how to begin healing.

What made a real difference for me was reaching out - both to the people closest to me and to organisations that truly understand this kind of loss. I found incredible support through Sands. Connecting with them gave me the space to speak openly, to feel heard, and to begin realising the weight of my grief.

Nearly a year on, I can finally say things are looking brighter. My partner and my daughter have been my biggest support, and I'm so grateful for their strength and love. If this message helps even one person feel less alone, then I know I've done something meaningful.

We are not just statistics. Our stories matter. And if you're going through something similar, please reach out - to your community, to Sands, to whoever might help you feel seen. You're not alone.

Earlier this year, Pooja also shared her story with Sands for Ectopic Pregnancy Awareness Day. Pooja spoke bravely about her experience and the impact this experience has had on her, the taboos and stigmas she has faced and why she is determined to speak up about pregnancy and baby loss to help raise awareness and let others know that they are not alone.
