Knit Your Socks Off have long supported Sands, knitting blankets for our Memory and Care boxes and supporting other Sands campaigns. When we shared our idea for this campaign with them, they were delighted to get involved.

The group is a safe space for women to connect and share over their love of knitting and crochet. Each of us in some way have a connection to baby loss so supporting projects like Sands is personal.  Through the projects members are able to honour their own loss, their beautiful children, all the while knowing that their knitted or crochet item that has been crafted with so much love will bring some solace and support others on the same journey.

Each Rakhi is handknitted by a member of the group. There are two hearts on each Rakhi, one representing the sibling no longer with us, the other for the person honouring them this Raksha Bandhan. ♥

Our heartfelt thanks go to Sbba and her group of knitters for helping us with this campaign.
