Together, we are Sands. Everyone has unique perspectives which we celebrate, respect and value. The strength of our impact is in the diverse identities of those that contribute to it.

In line with our values we constantly focus on being compassionate, evidence-based, collaborative, and inclusive, and we aim to always be a safe space 

We are still learning how to get it right.

We will:

  • Ensure our work is with and not just for the people we serve
  • Develop and deliver Sands’ EEDI strategy in consultation with those who sit at the heart of our work 
  • Hold ourselves accountable by annually measuring progress against our strategy 
  • Continue investing in accessibility across Sands 
  • Identify and implement improvements by regularly reviewing our activities across the organisation. 
  • Invest in meaningful in-depth improvements that are reflected in representation. To change the outside, we must change the inside. 
  • Not tolerate discrimination, bullying or prejudice and will be quick and firm in addressing the issue

 

To ensure this we will:

  • Review all our policies and procedures to ensure they are fair and supportive of anyone who needs us 
  • Ensure our recruitment processes are inclusive
  • Invest in regular training and cultural competency with staff to help each of us evaluate what we do
