Seyi is a bereaved mother, Sands befriender and volunteer whose lived experience of baby loss, following the stillbirth of her beautiful daughter IyanuOluwa in 2021, informs her commitment to inclusive and compassionate bereavement support.

When IyanuOluwa died, Seyi wasn’t able to receive the support she desired at the time and this has led her to volunteer as a Sands befriender, and share her story to encourage families from Black communities to reach for support, but also ensure it is accessible to all.

Seyi began befriending to help ensure parents do not feel alone or face isolation and to bridge the gaps in access, trust and cultural understanding. She believes that remembrance, community, and gentle creativity can be powerful tools for healing, connection, and hope; helping families navigate grief while carrying love forward.

As a Trustee, Seyi is motivated to strengthen representation for Black communities, influence equitable service design, and amplify underrepresented voices within policy and practice.

Seyi hopes to draw on a wealth of knowledge and expertise in strategic, financial, and operational management, having worked in various leadership roles across the energy industry.
