On 30 October 2025, the Scottish Government announced a Scottish Maternity and Neonatal Taskforce to provide strategic, national leadership.
The taskforce will be looking at the scope of a national maternity and neonatal investigation in Scotland.

The Scottish Government have announced that Ann Gow, Deputy Chief Executive of Healthcare Improvement Scotland, and Professor Anna Glasier, Scotland’s Women’s Health Champion, have been appointed as Vice Chairs of the Scottish Maternity and Neonatal Taskforce.
