Why Sands United matters

Sadly, every day in the UK, 13 families suffer the heartbreak of losing their baby before, during or shortly after birth and an estimated 1 in 4 pregnancies end in miscarriage. 

When a baby dies the feelings of loneliness and isolation can be overwhelming, so talking to other people about their bereavement is vital, but men can sometimes struggle to talk about how they’re feeling and can be overlooked.

We hope that Sands United can provide a support network so that bereaved men can break their silence about baby loss, and help others to do the same.
