Connie shares how she and her partner lost their son Freddie in a stillbirth in February 2026 due to issues with her blood pressure and lack of blood pressure management. Connie also shares, how as a mother, she feels a massive amount of guilt for not speaking up more and how battling that guilt has been hard. Today, the couple are pregnant with their rainbow baby, which they are taking as a gift from their little Freddie.
“My partner and myself lost our son Freddie in February 2026 due to issues with my blood pressure and lack of blood pressure management from my booking appointment to seeing the consultant at 20 weeks. By that point it was too late.
We are now pregnant with our rainbow baby, and the due date is February/March 2027.
It will be a full circle moment, and we are taking this as a gift from our little Freddie. It has been hard to feel excited whilst also trying to grieve but we have had so much support.
As a mother I feel a massive amount of guilt. I always feel like I should have said more, spoken up more but as everyone tells me I didn’t know what I was meant to speak up for as it was my first baby, so battling with that has been hard.
