We are looking for a number of Trustees to join our Board of Trustees, to help us save babies’ lives and support bereaved families.
Sands exists because of the unwavering commitment, generosity and courage of its community. Our Trustees are vital members of this community of compassionate and lifesaving change-makers, whose voices inspire change and turn understanding into action.
As a Trustee you will support the charity by providing strategic oversight and leadership, ensuring that Sands pursues its stated objectives through its vision and mission. Every Trustee brings their specific skills, knowledge or experience, they have to help the Board reach sound decisions.
Good governance is fundamental to our success. It enables and supports the charity’s compliance with the law and relevant regulations. It also promotes a culture in which everything works towards fulfilling our vision.
Sands has a Nominations Committee whose role is to assist the Board in identifying suitable individuals to act as Trustees of the Charity.

As Sands evolves as an organisation we need our Trustees to have a variety of expertise and experience in a wide range of areas. In particular, we are currently looking for Trustees who can demonstrate knowledge and experience of at least one of the following:
- Business acumen
- IT and data
- Research
- Neonatal care
