Martin and Emma Brewster were devastated when daughter Kitty was stillborn.

Martin was put in touch with Sands, through which he met other dads - now playing football with them and leaning on them for support, using a WhatsApp group – particularly around Father's Day, which he finds brings back the trauma of Kitty's birth.

The hospital also put Emma in touch with Sands, and she quickly found a support group. 

Clea Harmer, Chief Executive of Sands, said: “Bereaved parents tell us that Father's Day can be a highly emotional day for them as they spend time with their close friends and families and remember their babies who have died.  I would urge anyone who has been affected by the death of a baby not to suffer in silence and to get in touch.” Continue reading
