There's a crushing pain within me

It does not go away

The day you suddenly left us, I knew it was here to stay

 

People think I'm better; they look at me and smile

Little do they know, that I'm hurting all the while

 

I lie awake in the dead of night, and remember how it felt

To brush my nose against your cheeks and cuddle you so tight

 

I dream of what you'd look like, If you were here right now

Holding mine and Mummy's hand, as we kissed your brow

 

I changed inside forever, the day you slipped away

Until the day we meet again I know this is the way

 

In the meantime I'll keep on being, the best that I can be

To make you proud, as you look down
