“I love my little brother, Zack, so much even though he is in in the stars. I am doing this walk in memory of Zack. We all miss him and Sands gave my mum a lot of support in this time.” - Kayla, age 7.
At just seven years old, Kayla was determined to honour her brother, Zack. With her pink and blue hair bows and rainbow clothes, she walked around the local country park every day after school for a whole week. And if Kayla had her way, she’d have carried on for the whole month! Their Rainbow Walk totalled at 14 miles and they raised over £266 for Sands!
What should my walk look like on the day?
It's up to you! You can choose where you walk and the distance of the walk. Choose a day that means something to you, or simply one when your family and friends are free to join you.
Wear the colours of the rainbow, or any bright colours you like! Plan things to do along the walk or simply take in the nature around you.
However you choose to take part in Rainbow Walk, you’ll be joining a community of people raising funds to support bereaved families and help save babies’ lives.

The difference you can make
Sands wants to ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. We want to campaign for change and support research so that fewer babies die and that fewer families experience the pain of losing a baby.
Your Rainbow Walk Pack (Coming Soon!)
After registering your walk we will post a Rainbow Walk Pack to you. In the pack will be a letter welcoming you to the community, along with a themed checklist and a special seeded paper dedication card.
The checklist is also available to download as one of our online resources. It is designed to help centre and focus your walk. It can also be great for younger walkers who may be joining you.
The seeded paper dedication card is specially designed biodegradable paper with added flower seeds. Write your baby's name on the card and once home from your walk, you can find somewhere special to plant your card.
If you do have younger walkers joining you or you are feeling extra creative, we also have a downloadable colouring sheet. These are available as an online only resource and can be downloaded for home printing.
