The Sands Volunteer Awards Ceremony was held at the Sands Garden Day, at the National Memorial Arboretum on Saturday, 7 June.
Sands CEO, Clea Harmer and Volunteering Development Lead, Louise Fleming presented winners with an engraved trophy and a certificate signed by Clea and Sands Director of Volunteering and Bereavement Support, Jen Coates.
Sands Patrons Bel and Hazelanne Lewis were also in attendance to present the awards for the Bel Mooney Award for Raising Awareness and the Hazelanne Lewis Award for Leadership, which were named after them this year.

Rachel Burrell - Inclusion Award
For her passion in addressing inequalities in baby loss and maternity care. Through her advocacy for the Black community, Rachel has helped ensure that Sands feels like a safe and welcoming space.
Sands also recognises Rachel's pivotal role in the Black Roundtable group, where her input has been invaluable to Sands' work and resources.
Maria Gormley - Pinnacle Award
Simon Stocker - Support Award
For leading Sands United FC Brighton and Hove and championing the support available through Sands within the local community.
By creating a positive and inclusive environment for players, Simon has grown the team and is recognised for consistently going above and beyond for both the players and their families.
Phillippa Crombleholme - Innovation Award
For her incredible fundraising efforts for Sands and for engaging her global work community in support of Sands. By inspiring others to knit and crochet, Philippa has led the creation of over 300 blankets for Sands' memory boxes through workplace knitting groups.
Philippa is also a valued ambassador for Sands, sharing her story and inspiring others with compassion and dedication.
Fiona Donald - Pinnacle Award
For volunteering with Sands for over 20 years and being a source of warmth and comfort to bereaved families. Fiona is a constant source of innovation and inspiration to her fellow volunteers, local community, and the many people she has supported.
Sands also recognises Fiona's dedication to fundraising to improve facilities for those who have experienced pregnancy and baby loss.
Hawa Bhula - Innovation Award
For promoting and supporting the work of Sands in her local area, particularly within the South Asian community.
By generously offering her time and skills at the Garden Day to create beautiful mehndi designs, Hawa has helped to foster supportive conversations and meaningful moments of remembrance for families who have experienced pregnancy and baby loss.
Megan Jones Davies - Partnership Award
For being a tenacious advocate and leading the charge on Sands’ first-ever local campaign. By speaking on behalf of local bereaved families and championing the need for better bereavement care, Megan has made a significant impact.
Megan's determination in growing the campaign is driving real change.
Kaylee Hargreaves, Sammy Bridges, Paris Kelynack - Bel Mooney Award for Raising Awareness
For working tirelessly to restore support for bereaved families on the Isle of Wight and for their dedicated efforts to promote Sands and its work with healthcare professionals.
Not to mention all the phenomenal achievements and events in their first six months since re-launching, including the Isle of Wight Starlight Walk and quiz night fundraiser.
