For our Together, we are Sands campaign, we are celebrating the impact of the connections made within and beyond the Sands community.

Thank you to James for sharing his connection to our community – a community unlike any other.

"My Sands connection has been to my local hospital, as chair of Southampton Sands and southern ambassador for DWA (Daddys With Angels), we have been working to establish a non-invasive alternative to post-mortem investigations in early baby loss.

"Using a special scanner doctors can find information about why a baby died, without parents having to consent to a full post-mortem.

"Although there is still a long way to go this project will impact so many, making such a traumatic time more bearable. Connecting between both charities and the hospital, all working together for better care, means so much to me."

- James Thompson, Chair of Southampton Sands

Read more stories of connections and keep checking for new ones throughout June.

Through all these different experiences, the one connection remains, our precious and loved babies.
