Walk 100km with your dog this September and help save babies’ lives.
Countryside or town, one dog or two, rain or shine, we know you love walking your four-legged friends. Join a team of likeminded people all aiming towards a 100km target over the course of the month with the same vision: raise funds to support families and save lives.
Walk 100km between September 1st and September 30th and collect sponsorship so that no one has to face to loss of their baby alone.
That's about 3.3km or 2 miles per day, but you can split the distance up however you like.
Sign up by joining the Facebook group to register for your free t-shirt. And if you raise £60, you'll earn a doggy bandana so you and your pup can really look the part together!

When and where is this challenge?
This is a walking challenge for everyone and starts on 1st September. You can walk anywhere you might normally walk your dog, but be sure to take precautions so that you are safe whilst completing your challenge. You can do this together with your friends and family. Please adhere to any government guidelines for social distancing and restrictions at the time.
Do I have to raise money on Facebook or can I do it a different way?
Facebook sends the money directly to us and doesn’t charge you or us any fees, but if you would like to set up a fundraising page on another online platform, we recommend JustGiving. If you use a different online platform other than JustGiving or Facebook, please email email@example.com with your fundraising page link.
You can also collect cash sponsorship using our sponsorship form which is available to download.
Can I have a sponsorship form?
Of course. They are available to download here.
How do I get my t-shirt?
We'll send you your bespoke Sands t-shirt after you share your address in the online registration form.
When will my t-shirt arrive?
T-shirts will be posted in mid-August so you will have yours in time for the start of the challenge on the 1st September. We've got lots to send out and are only a small team so please be patient with us whilst you wait for yours.
How do I get a doggy bandana?
We'll be sending doggy bandanas out throughout September to anyone who raises £60 or more. You don't need to do anything to claim your bandana - we'll send these automatically.
If you're worried about raising £60 or need extra bandanas, they are also available to buy from our shop here.
Can I do a shorter/longer/earlier/later challenge?
Yes! Every step you take will help Sands. So do this challenge in whatever way works best for you. Every walk is very much appreciated!
Do I have to prove I’ve completed the challenge?
You don’t need to prove you’ve completed the challenge– we trust you! You can post videos, pictures, and updates on your Facebook Fundraiser, in the group or on social media and tag it with #SandsDogWalk. Sharing updates and filters is also a great way to show those who have sponsored you that you’re committed to completing the challenge.
How can my friends who aren't on Facebook donate?
Unfortunately it isn’t possible to donate to a Facebook fundraiser if you don’t have an account. We suggest asking them to transfer you the money, and you paying it to your Facebook fundraiser yourself.
They could also donate via our website: www.sands.org.uk/donate and adding the challenge name ‘100k Dog Walk' and your name. Please also email firstname.lastname@example.org to let us know about this donation.
I can't find my Facebook Fundraiser, can you tell me where it is?
No problem! Click on this link to view your fundraiser - https://www.facebook.com/fundraisers/manage
Can I fundraise as part of a team with my friends, family or colleagues?
Yes you can! You can do a joint Facebook Fundraiser page with your friends and family. The best way to do this is to nominate one person to create the Facebook Fundraiser on their own Facebook account. Then click edit organisers on the fundraiser and then you can add your team members . They will then also be able to adjust and edit the fundraising page and add comments. Please email email@example.com to let us know that you are fundraising as part of a team.
Tip: Edit the ‘Title’ and ‘About’ section on your page to add your team name and all your team member names.
Someone/I accidentally donated to my Facebook fundraiser. Can you issue them a refund?
Unfortunately we can’t issue refunds - Facebook must do this. People can request a refund themselves from Facebook by following the below steps:
Send them this link: https://www.facebook.com/help/contact/162031714239823
And follow the steps to request a refund.
How do I pay in my fundraising?
If you’ve collected offline fundraising, the easiest way to pay this to Sands if by donating it to your Facebook fundraiser.
If you don't have one, you can also donate on our website. Make sure to say that your money is for your S100km Dog Walk so that we can make sure it is added to your total.
If you’re not able to donate this way, then drop us an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and we can discuss other ways of getting the donation to us.
