Sands training days and events
Sands Bereavement Care Training Workshops – open to all professionals
Our consistently well-evaluated one-day workshop for multidisciplinary groups has been awarded professional accreditation from the Royal College of Midwives. The day supports participants to develop their knowledge, insight and skills to be able to provide high quality, sensitive care to parents when a baby dies. It is highly interactive and skills-based, enabling professionals to develop their confidence in providing excellent bereavement care.
Sands offers RCM accredited, evidence based and skills focused bereavement care training for Midwives. The parent experience runs throughout each workshop, with a guest parent speaker, film, audio and parent quotes.

Offering high-quality individualised support for parents when a baby dies can be difficult. Each Sands doula workshop is run by a skilled facilitator who uses film, audio clips, presentation, discussion, reflection and group exercises to enable participants to develop their knowledge, insight and skills to provide high quality, sensitive support to parents whose baby dies before, during or shortly after birth.
We worked with the Institute of Health Visiting to create a one-day bereavement care workshop for Health Visitors. The training workshop is fully IHV accredited.
