The Sands Research Strategy was launched in December 2015. It is designed to help us achieve two of our three aims, to:
- promote and support research to reduce the number of babies dying before, during or shortly after birth
- work in partnership with health professionals to try to ensure that bereaved parents and families receive the best possible care.
In addition to this strategy, we are also part of the Late Stillbirth Priority Setting Partnership steering group, which is led by stillbirth researcher and consultant obstetrician Dr Alexander Heazell from Manchester University. This Partnership is seeking the views of bereaved parents, researchers and health professionals on the most important unanswered questions surrounding stillbirth.
